Boots are usually more suitable for autumn and winter wear and they are also worn typically in adverse weather conditions. Summer is usually associated with lighter footwear as loafers, sandals, espadrilles and I wouldn't wear some heavy boots in this season. There are styles though, like chukka boots, which one can wear in summer, more so if unlined.
This question comes up again and again and I find it so strange. If you are comfortable and happy wearing boots in the summer, then why wouldn’t it be ok? The Old Testament does forbid wearing clothes that consist of a mix of different threads, but definitely no mention of boots.

Of course, you can wear what you like and are comfortable with, nothing wrong or forbidden. I just expressed what is my feeling about it.

I never knew this but am relieved that I can cite biblical authority for my aversion to cotton/linen blended trousers

Actually the boots I would, and do, wear in summer are lighter one, like the following:

Heinrich-Dinckelacker:

Crockett & Jones:

All these boots are lower with less height of the leg. Also the leather is lighter colored.

Best regards

watch yourself Fenners, the self appointed fashion police will come for you 😂
I suspect Taylortimothy might be guilty of stirring the pot a bit, since the post he replied to was posted way back in 2015 🤨
I personally wear boots year round, 95% of the time regardless of the boot height, or weather etc.. Boots after all, are the ultimate traditional footwear for gentlemen.

you've put me "a flea in my ear" (german for you've fixed me on)
just ordered a pair at fulhams.
pictures are following when they will have arrived...
In British English when you have “a flea in your ear”, it means someone has strongly told you off. The differences are interesting.

Shipton & Heneange Ranger by C&J, basically a Chiltern mounted on Vibram. I had them boxed for 6 years.

Something to notice is that there is no lining in the shaft, the only pair of boots I have seen with that lining.
