Yeah in the description it says "cemented" or I would probably already own a pair...I've had cemented boots last a long time before everything starts falling apart including the leather so yeah if the price is right I don't dismiss them outright because resoling isn't exactly cheap these days.

200CAD? I would hope to get a resole cheaper than that. At least at the local cobbler.

Got these lovely hi-top brogues yesterday for only £15. They're a size too large, but at such a low price, I couldn't just leave them in the store!

Well - shamefully - they're size 3 (uk) I'm a size 2, my feet just stopped growing when I was a small child and I've had a nightmare getting shoes to fit my abnormally tiny feet ever since. Because they're kids shoes they've just got a very low (5-7mm) heel made out of the same rubber as the sole, but at that price, I can't complain.

I just received the following from Marc Jacobs "Worker Engineer Boots." They are great! At well over 60% off of retail, they are a lot of boot for the money. The leather is thick and satisfying. The only thing is that the size are UK, not US, sizes, as Amazon would lead one to believe, but one can tell when the items get added to your shopping cart and the European Sizes appear.

I don't know who makes these for Marc Jacobs, but some good quality Italian maker. I don't care at all about the Marc Jacobs brand name, so don't think that influenced my impressions of them. Again, with Amazon's easy returns, you really can't go wrong if you find these at all tempting.

Breaking in the Grensons today. [IMG]

Got a pair of Stafford Deacons on clearance and with coupon, $38. Not the best of boots but full thickness leather at that price, I had to have them. I hit them with a bit of black polish to give them a sort of burnished look, then waterproofed them. Now I have a guilt-free pair of beaters that have held up well during this weeks two deluges. Super comfy and feet stayed dry. Yay!
