I need some book suggestions gonna try my best to explain for what I'm looking for; a book about being alone yet hansom, sorta something like Morrissey lyrics in book form. This sounds like the most pretentious request but I need something I can relate to right now. Only book that comes to mind is Catcher and The Rye. Fitzgerald comes close to this too in some of his books.

Tagut's autobiography. Alternatively, you may want to give Sophie's Choice a read.

Could you link me to the autobiography. Sophie's Choice seems like something I should have read by now.

Sorry, that tagut bit was a forum joke. Doesn't actually exist.

Another option I just thought of is Darkness Visible by William Styron. It's his personal account on how he succumbed to depression and his subsequent battle with it. Styron had a reputation of being a bit of a loner so I imagine it's discussed in the book.

I read Sophie's Choice earlier this summer and really enjoyed it. The main character's loneliness is mostly characterized as sexual frustration but one gets the impression that he feels disconnected in other aspects as well.

Haahaa, I took a hiatus from this forum for a bit (was buying too much clothes) and forgot people's names on here. I actually amazon searched Tagut Biography!

'Desolation Angels' by Jack Kerouac. Good read. My favorite of his books. 'Big Sur' and 'Lonesome Traveler' as well.

Notes from Underground. The start is a bit tough and gets way more fucked up as you go along. Ultimate loner book!
