Bold shirts-purple, lavender, etc. what suits to accompany it?

looking around the internet, ive seen bold colored shirts, like lavender, orange, or purple, with a white collar...sometime they also come with a bold matching striped tie.

my question is, what color suit would you wear this with?

im thinking light grey.....black would fit...black fits anything but for some reason a black suit with a purple shirt doesnt fit in my head.

Black and purple is a pretty strong combination, and I say that as one of the few black suit fans on SF

You could also do navy with the lavender shirt. Grey would be my first choice with either though.

Lavender and gray (most shades) look great together.

grey...ok yeah thats what my first thoguht was. medium to lgiht grey though...not charcoal, right?

A lavender shirt can look reall good with a navy suit. I also agree that it works well with medium-to-light shades of gray.

Any shade of gray, or else dark blue, is fine with lavender. I think gray works a little better.

I don't love orange as a shirting. I think it pairs with blue a little better than with gray.

usually i find a textured gray works best...i have a solid grey suit. charcoal and wearing lavender with that doesnt look too good in myopinion
