The Sartorialist has a post up right now on Boggi. I'd never heard of the store, but really enjoyed scanning through their catalogs on-line. Has anyone here visited the stores? Schuman calls it an Italian Brooks Brothers, which looks about right. A few sample pages: [deleted b/c images changed]

I think that T4phage once described it as the most typical clothing of Milan.

I like the tweedy feel to a lot of it. A lot of it reminds me of something you'd see in the Andover Shop catalogue.

Hard to tell about the cuts given the limited scope of the photographs, but I like the looks overall.

I would imagine that given the prices, the materials and construction are not fantastic, but the look is great. I think I would wear almost everything in the catalog.

I was wondering when this store was going to be brought up. I have a pair of suede driving mocs I bought from their store in Siena this summer. The Satorialist is right, they are kind of an Italian Brooks Brothers, just better fit and quality. It's not Kiton but everything is serviceable and wonderfully Italian in style.

I picked up a similar jacket to the one in the first photo at Milan Linate airport. It's well cut and I always get favourable comments. I'd recommend.

For some reason I really like the look of the zip sweater and probably deceivinngly slim looking cordury jacket. Is that an overcoat or jacket?

I noticed a reference to a New York store on Boggi's Web site so I e-mailed the company and received this response:
Dear Sir,

at the moment we haven't a store in New York City - Usa, probably in a
future. We have studying a website for sales on-line, but it is not
operative at the moment.

Either would be a nice development.

Every time I go to Italy I can't wait to pay a visit to Boggi, and I was at the Siena store this summer as well... Nice little store, but not the best salespeople I think (even by Belgian standards

I own a lot of different items from Boggi, ranging from ties to sweaters and from shirts to pants, including belts. The price/quality ratio is really incredible. OK, the stuff is cheap, so it's not the best construction around, but for the price it's really unbeatable. In Belgium you would have to pay three times as much for the same quality in some supposedly upmarket department store.

I really appreciate their ties and their dress shirts. Those shirts fit well, have nice patterns, a nice construction, a nice collar (the cutaway one) and are "hassle-free" (easy to iron, easy to combine with other pieces of clothing). They size small however (I'm a 15'1/2" and sport a 16' -i.e. 40 with Boggi).

Frankly I'd recommend Boggi without an hesitation when you're around in Italy.

New Boggi catalog is online. I'm going to Rome in November and the store is on my to do list.
