I'm looking to buy a pea coat online, does anyone know how I can tell whether or not it will fit and how slim? Is there some kind of a table to convert your measurements to the measurements you need your clothes to be?

Thanks.

Sometimes vendors will have size charts that correspond to some sort of body measurement. Even these aren't super-reliable with regards to outerwear, since sometimes outerwear is sized up to go over several layers (as in a suit) and sometimes sized to go over a single layer.

You're better off trying it on first and, failing that, look for a good return policy.
