I'm probably in the minority on this board that really likes what OB is doing. I have 2 of his RTW suits and if I were to choose anyone on Savile Row to go bespoke, he would be my first choice.

He insinuates, and it's probably true, that the established houses don't give him much respect on the Row (I know I read Thomas Mahon dismiss Boateng in not so many words) which is too bad because I think Boateng (and the other "new saville rowers") can coexist with the established houses, alstwhile bringing attention and potentially more customers to the entire Row. When I first really discovered what Saville Row was back in the mid 90s, it was thru Ozwald Boateng.

He's helping make it cool to wear a suit, which is a good thing, though his clothing isn't to my taste.

Fascinating read, thanks. Well, if at least the Row benefits, that is good. I am hoping that when I manage to get affluent enough I can have a suit or two made somewhere there

Like most designers, he seems to have a pretty big ego.

I really enjoyed this part:
