1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Great episode! LaCiura singing in German actually sounded pretty good/real!

I have never been a fan of Van Alden but I must say I have enjoyed him being ordered around by Capone.

This season has been a slow burn. It isn't really grabbing me. If they don't jazz it up soon I will probably skip it.

I don't need to watch TV. I enjoy it, but I have other options.

So why did Dunn Purnsley beat down that one black guy smoking a cigarette?

Dr. Narcisse said black people like that are what's keeping the black man down and they should be dealt with.

I think Purnsley beat him to show that's he's serious about working for the good Doctor.

The show's always been a slow burn. Most storylines don't pay off until the last few episodes. (Novelistic is the buzzword.)

I think his character is the most irritating on the show so far. Rosetti's a close second, though.

I had a hard time understanding the Dr.'s logic for that beatdown given that he is peddling heroin to black folks via Purnsley.

Same here which is why I don't quite understand the beating.

I guess it's the double standard many criminals have. On the one hand, they wanna make money by any means necessary - on the other hand, they've a reputation to keep up. That's probably why Narcisse sells the smack in AC, not in Harlem. When Purnsley comes to his office the Dr. is very upset that Cotton Came To Harlem.

Harlem seems the place for his "Lybians" to strive, hence the beating of the foul mouthed guy.

But even then I believe that it was a test, a test that Purnsley failed. I think that the good doctor believes that Purnsley, a fairly ignorant fellow whose only love is sex and violence, is also part of the problems that plague the black community. He will use him and then discard him.

Very good point, he's definitely a follower and not a leader.

I don't like him either, but maybe that's the point.

I hated Rosetti too, but he turned out to be okay.
    Plus he won that Emmy...
