Looks like the shoes are back on sale. There are still some nice things left - Ralph Lauren, a nice pair of Gravati loafers, those Varvatos Chukka boots I bought...

So what do you think of the quality of Varvatos shoes? The ones that I've seen have seemed to be decently made, but any input by someone who has actually worn them would be appreciated.

...and does it annoy anyone else that Bluefly describes so many shoes as having a "stacked wooden heel?" If shoe manufacturers were using as much wood as Bluefly seems to think, there would be no forests left.

I don't have extensive experience, but I like the boots. They seem to be made with what Santoni calls a "San Crispo" construction. Pretty good leather, decent sole, and they look good. I'd buy them again.

Gents,
I'm usually an 11.5 D in Alden, AE, and the US sized C&J's. I don't own any Greens. What are the chances that the bluefly Cardiffs will fit in a 12?

Thanks

Unfortunately, low. Those RLPL Whittakers are pretty big shoes. I wear a 10.5 in most shoes, and swim a bit in the 10.5 Whittakers. I think if I tried on a pair of the RLPLs a half size bigger than normal, I'd just walk right out of the shoes when I tried to take a step. So from my experience, at least in my size, I'd view anything on the Edward Green 89 last as being a half size bigger than marked size.

Aww. Shucks. Thanks for the info. At least I can keep the 400 bucks in my pocket.

....Anyone looking to move a pair in 11.5?
