hello everyone,

i have recently purchased a navy blue blazer with black on the collar... i was intending on wearing it casually with a dark pair of jeans, white hankerchief and dark tan shoes!? ideally i would wear black shoes but was wondering if i could i incorporate them with my new dark brown shoes from church's?
is this a big no no or could i pull it off?

That's a big no-no. You have to wear patent leather shoes, or at least black shoes.

That is a big no no. If this is a formal event then you wouldn't wear a tux with regular oxfords. Tuxedo shoes are usually patent leather. Shiny to fit the occasion. If you cant get patent leather then get black shoes and shine the heck outta them.

PS: A tux and a blazer are not the same thing.

Really? The world of fashion's idea of a tuxedo blazer is just my imagination? If you say so.

Yes. It's either a tuxedo or it's a blazer, it cannot be both.

Now, now, we must admit that the tuxedo blazer does in fact exist, all technicalities aside. As for the look and its versatility, some can pull it off; most don't, and I personally think that 9 times out of 10 something like a velvet blazer or a dark patterned silk number like you might see in a Gucci catalogue would work better for that sort of look. If you want to pull it off, I suggest letting your inner rock star out in terms of style and attitude.

That aside, in terms of your shoe question, go black, otherwise you're getting a little too mix and match; you can play around with choices (what shirt or t-shirt, what accessories, jeans or odd trousers?) but don't stray too far in terms of colour, because that's what should keep it all loosely gelled.

In short, if you can mix and match, are young, can give off some attitude, and keep within the rough bounds of the black, white and blue spectrum, you should be good. And no brown Churches.

You must have mixed up your Oxiclean and put Orange Glo in the machine instead. On the bright side, you probably didn't get a single extra stain on those items after the invisible barrier took effect. It's also good for masturbating with (Orange Glo, not Oxiclean, I can't stress the importance of not forgetting that fact enough, I made that mistake once, now I'm typing from underground.)

Wear slim (faded) black jeans and shiny black shoes, classic white sneakers, or something more streetwearish. You're talking about a rockstar type look, not something that should play by traditional rules. And not something that really belongs in MC.
