bling or bland

I live in South Africa and our politicians all think it is very smart to wear a lot of bling and big designer names like Boss etc and Big Name watches. I notice that in Europe and America, most of the men in the public eye, wear very conservative, well made clothes a l Obama and Silvio Berlusconi. Isn't Bling a bit over and aren' we back to Savile Row suits and hand tailored shirts?

This is just like Miami in the 80's. Everyone wanted to show off their spoils. Then questions were asked about where they got the money. Then they got smart. You dont see that anymore.

This happened to European and American polis about 100 years ago. When S Africa smartens up enough to ask questions, the politican's will start hiding the spoils of their criminal activity as well.

Some may view this post as a joke.
