I like this look--navy blazer with white "binding" on the edges and around the pockets. But hell if I know what to call it. Before I venture forth and summon one up from Chan, can anyone enlighten me?

It's a form of boating "blazer."

Interesting. Up to now, I thought of boating or boat club blazers as striped jackets in bold colors.

    Piping.

When I was doing my own little experiment in this vein, I was told that piping is actually a narrow strip sandwiched between layers of cloth. Edge binding, or binding tape, is attached on the outside and wraps around the edge of the cloth. Piping is narrow and small, while edge binding tends to be much wider.
