Hi, I am interested in a blazer. The should measurement fit my size. However, I am not quite sure about waist. My waist is about 34 to 36. The seller said: waist measures 20" across. I believe this means the waist is 40, am I correct? So, this blazer should be fine for me?
Anyone can give me any suggestion?
    Many thanks in advance!

You need to know how these measurements are taken. Is the jacket waist measured from the front edge to the center back seam at the button position or is the jacket buttoned and laying flat, measuring across the waist from side to side. It makes a difference.
If the former and you have a 34 waist it will be fine. If you are 36, it will be tight. If the latter it will be a bit snug if you are 34 and you won't be able to button it if you are a 36 waist.

Thank you! I believe it is the latter. Any idea if the waist could be let out a little bit to fit?

only by looking at the outlets on the side seams to know how much cloth is available.
