Blazer sizing and measurements

Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a while. Finally made an account to ask a question about sizing and measurements for jackets.

I currently own a Zegna blazer I thrifted a year ago. It fit me perfectly off the shelf and I love it. The size listed on the tag is 44L, and the measurements are:
Chest: 23"
Shoulders: 19"
Length: 32"
Sleeve: 26"

I am looking to buy another Zegna coat and found another on ebay. Has a similar cut/style/lapels/etc and the tag looks the same, so I think that they are from a similar line/quality. The numbers for the chest/shoulders/length/sleeve of the new coat are identical to mine. The only thing is that the size listed on the tag is 46L.

My question is:
Can I bid confidently given those numbers? Is there any other measurement I need to compare to confirm that the coat will fit? Does the discrepancy in the sizing (46L vs. 44L) matter if the measurements I listed are the same?

Thanks!

I suggest you also compare the half waist measurement.

Ignore the label and go by the measurements. I have a 43XL vintage Brooks Brothers sport coat that is bigger across the board than a 44XL BB of the same era. Maybe alterations? Maybe a different sub-line?

My best advice when buying sport coats/blazers/suits on eBay is to only buy from sellers who offer returns. Another tip is that even if a seller doesn't offer returns, DM them and ask if they'll make an exception for you if you pay for the return shipping. I've had good luck with this, especially if it's an item that has been sitting for a while. I've had plenty of frustrations buying sport coats over the years; in my experience, the shoulders are the biggest crapshoot. Some armholes are too high, sometimes the shoulders just don't sit right even if the measurements are on point. Always give yourself the option to return the item.

Thanks for the replies.
Is there any measurement other than the half waist that I should ask for?

Thanks Lefty. I'll ask the seller about returns!
