Blake/rapid double sole

Have any of you seen a double sole and Blake/rapid construction used together? I have a pair of Santoni Jadwin double monks that I find just a bit too sleek. I was thinking a heavy sole might make them look better. I know other types of sole conversions are common, but I've never heard of replacing a single Blake/rapid sole with what I'm envisioning as a double Blake/rapid sole. Should I try it, or will this fail for some reason yet unknown to me?

I would email Ron Rider, he's the blake/rapid guy. I don't see why it couldn't be done.

The midsole acts just like any other welt would, I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be doable.

The Sutton Rapid E out-sole stitcher would stitch through the layers like butter.
To the OP, if you are going to have this done, I would suggest that the double sole end near the ball of your foot. If you go all the way through the shank they'll come out looking like Gunboats.
It won't look right on that shoe.

Very, very good advice! And ~ how much would B Nelson charge me for such a job (and new heels commensurate with the added height of the double soles)?

Nice kicks, O/O. I take it these have had just such a conversion done? Where was the work done? How much $?

What kind of shoes are they, BTW?

Not converted; just an example of blake/rapid with a double sole. They are 7 or 8 year old shoes, made in Italy for a seller who was not the manufacturer.
