Blackberry/SMS Technical Question

I use SMS to communicate with a few people who don't have e-mail during the day. I send and receive messages from my phone/Blackberry. The problem is that I don't carry my Blackberry with me unless I am outside, so unless I check it frequently, I may easily miss messages. And on a day with a lot of email traffic, the SMS message can get buried on the Blackberry.

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to forward SMS messages from my Blackberry to an email account? If it makes a difference, my Blackberry is running on some sort of Exchange server.

That will help me avoid losing track of the messages, so thanks. It won't help me get them without checking my blackberry, but it is still a big improvement.

Thanks

Now if only I could do the opposite...automatically forward text messages from my AT&T phone to my blackberry.

I am testing some new devices at work and I don't really want to carry two phones around. I forwarded voice calls just fine (they forward if my phone is off or I don't pick up) but there is no way to forward the texts. This means I often miss them as they don't make it to the blackberry.

I'm on a texting plan but you would think they would LOVE to make this option available, especially of someone was using two phones (or a blackberry) from the same provider. Charge once to receive, once to forward and once again to receive on the blackberry...so good it almost sounds like a scam but I would be cool with it (this is already how they charge airtime on forwarded calls).

That was really annoying when I used to have two phones, one personal and one for work. I would use my work phone for pretty much everything and forward my personal phone to the work line, but couldnt do it for texts. I wish you could, that would be awesome.

to the OP: Try www.blackberryforums.com or www.crackberry.com or www.pinstack.com lots of good info on there.

How about changing the sound alert for SMS to make sure you don't miss them?

That won't really help, as I don't carry my blackberry with me most of the time - so I wouldn't hear it.

I used the separate sms inbox route. That is the best I can do. I've been told the add-on third party forwarding software presents a security issue.
