Hello! I just came across this (very awesome) forum and decided that my present conundrum was an appropriate-enough first post!

I'm trying to hunt down a pair of Black watch tartan formal slippers. I love the RLPL pair, but the RL initials aren't exactly my jam. If I could get my initials instead, that'd be a different story, but they don't do that. I know Ben Silver did a pair as well, but that's all gone.

I contacted Stubbs and Wootton re: a custom pair, and the guy I spoke to intimated that their factory had the fabric once upon a time, but I haven't heard back from them in about a week.

Any advice?

I've seen some interesting slipper fabrics pop up through Brooks Brothers from time to time. I can't say they have blackwatch currently, but it might be worth an inquiry to corporate. And, since I assume their slippers are under the Peal brand, they are likely made by either C&J or AS, so you could inquire with those companies as well.

Also, did you try Shipton and Heneage, or Del Toro?

I don't know if they stock it currently, but might do a custom order.

Good luck!

Berk of England does a lot of velvet slippers, maybe they can special order in your fabric. Belgian Shoes in NYC does lightly constructed shoes in many unusual fabrics, perhaps they can do a formal slipper too.
