Speaking generically (I work in the software industry) color of tie isn't important. All that I notice is that you wear clothes that fit.

Absolutely not. The interviewer will notice and immediately rip your resume in half.

You shouldn't just wear a black tie to an interview, you should wear full black tie to an interview. Dress to impress!

Not unless you are an undertaker or a security guard. Maybe as a waiter at a high-end European restaurant, where waiters wear white coats.

Sure. You can wear whatever you want. I'm not sure how many people will actually care about a thing like that. A medium grey suit with a white shirt and a solid black tie is a nice look. It wouldn't be my choice for an interview, but if you've got the goods, it won't hurt you in the interview.

I assume you mean a black tie and not 'black tie'. The latter is a certain no, the former would depend on the circumstances. probably not in general but it might be acceptable in some instances.

No.

'A' black tie should only be worn to a funeral or a Mafia social, the two of which sometimes overlap.

It also really depends on the industry. If you're trying for a conservative position (e.g. banking, law or accounting), you'd want to avoid wearing black (in general, not just with a tie).

A black silk knit tie can look sharp and slightly relaxed. Here is a good combination.

Connery wore a black tie in quite a few Bond outfits.
