I've been invited to a black tie masquerade held by a client of my firm. The attire listed is: Black Tie (Masks Encouraged). Has anyone been to a similar event and if so, do you have some mask suggestions or ideas?

Never been to one, but a Jason-hockey mask (plain white) would obviously look great with a black tie rig.

I was at one a month ago. Great fun. Do you know where to get a mask from?

This website has some nice looking venetian masks but the style tends to skew most of them towards more feminine. That is why I was wondering what sort of mask other members have worn.

Firstly, wear classic black tie attire. No sparkly vests or rainbow ties. A nice Venetian carnival mask is the way to go. Don't worry too much about the masculinity of the mask, as long as it doesn't have feathers, you'll be fine. And watch Eyes Wide Shut to get in the proper mood.

And don't forget to bring a straw for the Champagne cocktails.
