I guess when you own almost a trillion dollars of US Govt debt, you can wear what you want and get away with it.

No white tie for a state dinner. Which President was the first to abandon that tradition?

Barbra Streisand and her husband, James Brolin, were also among the guests. The singer was asked why she thought she'd been invited. Her reply was deadpan: "I worked in a Chinese restaurant."

Yeah. Even if "black-tie" was translated literally, Hu would still be wrong.

Hu?

The leader of China.

Right.

Hu?

That's my question.

Actually, Hu didn't wear a tux on purpose. Communists (esp. old school) hypocritically eschew the tuxedo or formal evening dress and consider it the affectation of the rich or the capitalist, hence, you won't see them ever in such garb. Even though he's richer or more powerful than most kings in history, to show he is "of the people" he won't wear a tux.

This is obviously hipocracy at its worst.

You'd think the commie dress code would atleast include a red tie.

If we are being correct, then it's technically like a corporate bond. Not as much upside as stock.
