Black shoes or Brown shoes with jeans?

What do you guys prefer? Black shoes with jeans or Brown shoes with jeans. Leather soled shoes, not athletic shoes.

Depends how dark the jeans are, but brown is generally better than black.

I only wear brown and tan with jeans... but as others have said, it depends on what you wear. I have four brown shoes which I rotate for wear with jeans:

- Dolce & Gabbana Wing tips in chocoloate
- Dolce & Gabbana Suede oxfords in mud
- Prada drivers
- Campers walking shoes

For me, I can't seem to dress in a style where black fits in... maybe my shoes are too formal for wear with jeans, or I need some guidance!

Black is a good solid choice, but brown offers some diversity. However I would like to see more grey, grey is gorgeous IMO. Anything that's a deviation from the typical is good whether it be color (brown) or texture (suede!).

Well I at least said shirt/jacket wise. If I'm wearing a principally black or very dark gray, of an outfit where one of the principal components is black and others aren't brown, I'll probably opt for black shoes. Otherwise, I usually go with some shade of brown.
