Black Pinstripe Suits Revisted (Pics)

I promised pics of the black beaded pinstripe Corneliani suit that I purchased on STP, and here they are (let me know what you guys think):

The fit looks quite good although I'd probably alter the jacket so it would be more fitted. My main concern is *to me* the white stripes on black just look too severe. I would have been better if the background were charcoal gray.

I think that it looks a bit severe - definitely not comparable to a navy pinstripe. However, the price was right.

Also, your pants look long.

I would shorten your pants and unbotton your top button. The fabric is nice - but I can be a bit "loud" in my own color choices, or so I'm told.

Edit: I meant unbutton the top button of your jacket. Not your pants.

Yeah, my tailor asked me if I want more waist suppression and I opted against it because I am going to be gaining some weight pretty soon (I work out and I'm currently bulking). I like the white on black especially for going out. I might not wear this suit to work, but for example, tonight I'm going dancing with my girl and I think this suit is perfect for the occassion.

About the pants, I don't think that they're too long as much as that they're a tad too narrow at the bottom and therefore don't fall quite as nicely as I would like them to. Maybe I should have gotten them cuffed so they would be more weighted. I decided to with plain bottoms because I wanted this to be a more fashiony kind of suit.

Also, I would ditch the red and go with a solid, reserved silver hued tie over reds. The suit is strong enough and the silver will balance it better in my eye.

Also, in this case, I would go with a more fitted, and more waist suppression as the wider, unfitted boxy shape lends more to a power mafia tone; whereas a fitted, lean look avoids this clothing S.Type.

Keep in mind the narrower the higher the pant leg.

Borrlli/Kiton are like 4cm from the heel up.

If you want a no cuff, I have my tailor(s) do a shirt like internal cuff to add weight and drape like a pant standard cuff. It can and probably should be done on lighter fabrics if you have no pant cuff

I'd agree. Not very business-like, but cool for evenings out.

Also a silverish/white dress shirt (I have a silverish Brioni dress shirt with french cuffs, that I wear with a subdued Borrelli solid twill tie, that gets loads of compliments) can do amazing things over the white with the look you have going here. I think you shortenen the pants, get an internal cuff, and you will be the rock star of the night.

I think it looks fantastic... but since I use almost the exact same combination of black pinstripe/red tie/light colour shirt from time to time, I guess I'm biased! I even wear that combo to work occasionally but then again, my workplace is far from conservative and there's a huge range of outfits to be seen from suits to jeans and anything in between.

The trouser leg does look long, despite what you say about it just being too tapered. If it really is just the tapering, if there's some material there, perhaps it could be opened up a bit?

Very nice suit indeed, but I agree with most of the above points. Additionally I'd recommend a white linen or cotton pocket square which would be better suited (no pun intended) to that fabric, as would say... a blue or another less loudly coloured tie. Maybe I'm just not a huge fan of silver ties.

I think the suit is fantastic, and i think you mentioned it is double-vented? superb.

I'd do something a little different on the tie-- maybe one of these ties would be cool, something with a black background:

I think it looks good. I have the same suit though. I did cuffs on mine though, i didn't find that it tappers that much. The pants fit similar to Canali, which are my favorite. The have anice elegant look to them. THe suit is bold but i don't work in an office and i can get away with a little more. I usually try to do a little less bold comibnation, with black/grey, or silver based ties.
