Looks like those bad distressed jeans the French wear.

The brown museum is absolutely amazing though.

The difference is the sheen. When you see it in person there is no way you feel it looks like damaged black calf.

However, I agree with Jake, that Dark Brown Museum is mesmerizing.

But I was told JL is discounting that Museum Calf line. I had to wait for them to find the leather in storage when I ordered a pair few month ago.

The black museum calf often has sort of a purple look, at least to me it does. I like both the brown and black, but wear my brown more than my black. I'm disappointed it'll be discontinued.

I have a black, dark brown, and chestnut museum calf shoes. Nothing beats chestnut. Though the dark brown is also very nice. The black is okay nothing special like the chestnut.

Yes, chestnut looks good, but I rarely wear mine. I think it's because I have it in a loafer.
