Hello SF's users, I recently acquired a Brooks Brothers Black Fleece Grey Jacket, and I was wondering if you guys could answer some of the questions that I have about it. Thanks. Information about the Jacket- http://tinyurl.com/Wool-Classic-Jacket [IMG] Questions: 1.\tWhether or not to wear it as a sport coat or as a suit jacket? 2.\tWhat kind of buttons should I have on this jacket if I want to wear it as a sport coat? Here is the picture of the buttons that came with the jacket. BB's website describes it as, "Genuine mother-of-pearl buttons". [IMG]

    My answer:

No one should be wearing clothing like that in 2011.

^^^ tombking might be comically short so Thom Brown's comically short clothes might actually be the right length for him!

You should head over to SW&D board and ask over there. They tolerate this kind of thing more.

Those aren't the right proportions for anybody. But that's another argument.

If you're 5'5, that jacket might fit you OK. I just hope you didn't spend anywhere near $860+

I have found that they dress their models like that, but if you purchase BF jackets in your actual size, they actually fit like a jacket should.

True, although the jackets are still a bit short. An SA told me that they go down at least a size on all the models.

The jacket fits great on my body. It is long enough to cover my back side.

This is true among any brand in the world that sells products. It is to save on having to alter garments for models. Clothing used for shoots usually goes back into stock to be sold. In fact Syms once had a bunch of RLBL stuff that was used for their website, it still had tags attached to it from the PR firm.

I guess my point was that BF jackets actually look pretty good if you buy one that fits you and have it tailored. I think people see TB pictures as assume that his stuff doesn't fit right. It fits if you actually get it in your size and not from the children's rack.
