I've done quite a bit of research on this board's oppinions about black suits and, for the most part, I agree completely.

That said I feel that perhaps a black cotton suit could yank the black suit out of it's akward place of formality and make for decent summer eveningwear?

Keep in mind I'm 22 and eveningwear describes something I'd wear out to a nice chain resturaunt/coffeeshop/something.

If this idea is completely rejected could someone throw me a suggestion for a cotton suit color besides khaki?

I have a hard time envisioning a black cotton suit. If you're looking for a poplin suit other than Khaki, Olive could work quite well. Or you could go with seersucker.

How about navy cotton? Or perhaps chocolate brown?

I vote for the olive poplin.

GQ backs the black cotton suite pretty hard, that's not to say they're right. I personally like the idea, as long as it doesn't cost more than $500.

I wouldn't worry over the color.. with my experience with black cotton fabrics, a few washes will turn it into charcoal grey soon enough.
