There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Levi's Red: Not the Cheapest, but the Best

Front, oddly shaped pockets and messy stitching
    [IMG]

    Selvedge cuffs
    [IMG]

...but the Selvedge ends up the knee?!

    IRREGULAR?

Hard to see, but the leg seam is twisted to the front as well.

I'm going to email Levi's about them. Though they seem kind of clueless.

I saw a really ugly pair kinda like this at Ross the other day--twisted leg seams, weird pockets/pocket placement, but they were bleached out, sanded down, and nonselvege. They said something weird on them too, like "Levi's Laboratory"--I can't remember exactly what. Definitely no "Red" back pocket card.

    Where were they manufactured?

Certainly the European lines are often quite different to the US lines, I don't know about the Asian market.

I have a pair of jeans from that line. They are made of 50% hemp/50% cotton. The color on them is great. The 'backed' rivets are a great detail. Not everyone loves them though, due to the style and certain details.

I have no idea. That's the weird thing, this baby isn't tagged anywhere.

Awesome! Do you have any info about this line? I had no idea it was hemp. They're a size 30, very small and slim fitting, so I can't wear them. The skyblue color is really nice. I thought it might be natural indigo.

I will take a moment later this week to pull them out of the closet and get some info on them. I bought mine at a retailer, so tag is still in the jeans. Should give some info.

This is the pair I got. Tag says 57% cotton, 43% hemp. From fall 2008 collection. Made in Turkey, distributed by Levi Strauss & Co. Tag stages HQ in Europe and also some Japanese.

Yours are from the same year. Don't know the season though.

Levis Red was sort of an upscale, trashy line for Levis. Discontinued awhile ago so not sure how you found it. Lots of weird cuts and details.
