No it's not...

It's very popular here in Lebanon...

Almost every person has one.. It's comfortable, and nice.

So why would you want something everyone else has? How about some crocs, those are just as nice and available in brighter colors.

to be fair, birkenstock is a comfortable shoe, and many find it appealing

I have a few pairs of Birkenstocks included the one above in black. I have a woodworking shop attached to my house, and I find this a great shoe to wear in there well I am building stuff, plus I can slip it off and on easy. Of course I wouldn't wear them out of the house.

I have 4 pairs of Birk's. I am almost required to wear them because of my fallen arches. I love them. I wish I can have Birkenstock soles in my dress shoes.

I like their foam and cork insoles developed for their Footprints brand. I have the Trekking version in my Haferl Richard boots, which came unlined. They make a difference in comfort. The version made for casual and dress shoes is similar.
