I think that 1K is the absolute highest I could pay in the foreseeable future, and I ride mountainbikes (which is good, because they are a whole lot cheaper than good road bikes.) I figure I might get a Rockhopper or something similar with a hybrid XT/LX system. Sturdy, reliable, and gets the job done. Sort of the APC New Standards of mountain bikes.Originally Posted by LA Guy

Yesterday I went riding in the wet with on and off rain, and I just realized how happy I am that my bike has disc breaks, the stopping power in the wet is unbelievable! I was riding my mountain bike on a golf course, in and out of the dunes and sand traps, and every time I need to make a sharp stop, the breaks worked flawlessly, delivering perfect stopping power.Originally Posted by imageWIS
Jon, this is wrong on so many levels I scarcely have the energy to try. WTF are you doing riding your bike in sand traps? Aren't there more suitable venues for your amusement?Originally Posted by Dakota rube
As I said, I don't have the energy.Originally Posted by Dakota rube
