I couldn't find this by searching:

What's the solution when a shoe is a tiny bit too big for you, but going down a half size would mean the shoe would be too small? Is there some kind of insert that fixes this?

Thanks.

you could get a tongue pad, a heel pad, or thin insoles.

You could get thicker socks.
Wear them late in the day when most people's feet swell a bit.
Put them away for a year or five. Most feet become larger over time.

I've regretted buying shoes a bit too small. Rarely regretted buying shoes a bit too large. They usually end up becoming very comfortable.
