Did anyone see the new RL "Big Pony" custom fit polo shirts?

I actually quite like them; they seem to say "LOOK AT MY PONY." If only they didn't have the silly number on the sleeve, I'd consider it, as the new(ish) "custom fit" is quite flattering.

hate'em. When Tommy did the really big logos it was great for revenue in the short term but ultimately devalued the brand. RL would be wise not to make this an every-season staple.

I've already seen a fair number of American Jackass types on vacation sporting this shirt around the Financial District. Are you sure you want to emulate them?

if they had one with an alligator humping the horse...now that would be something.

Regular-size pony plus numbers might be OK as a faux-sport shirt. The giant pony is so dumb that when I first saw the pic I thought it was a joke.

I saw one of these in the Polo store last weekend. Part of me sort of likes it and part me hates it. Nevertheless, I wouldn't buy one.

Maybe I'll go for the "Trogdor Polo Shirt" : here On reflection, I think the comments are right; the "Big Pony" shirt does veer dangerously close to my "No Logos" clothing policy.

In the finest RL tradition, the purple label horsey will be 4 inches tall, the blue label 3.5, the "Lauren" 2.5 and the Chaps 1 inch and already discounted at TJ Maxx.

God-awful.

Will they have mega-size "Knights of the Round Table" and "Beverly Hills Polo Club" knockoffs of it?

I have a million-dollar idea for Lucien Pellat-Finet to put out a line of faux-dorky polo shirts with instead of a polo player, a little hemp sign. I bet that would appeal to his target trustafarian audience and he could sell them for $500 apiece.

Hermes used to sell T-shirts with a huge Hermes sign or logo on the breast. Harrumph.

Death to the logo.

Here's why: Lacost is Andy Roddick's new sponsor. So Ralph decides to sponsor the entire US open. That's Ralph Lauren, Inc.

I would wear one of them, but not in white. Can they be found on the website?

How damn big would a logo have to be to cross that line..

You know the person who wears this Big Pony shirt hopes it incites the following exchange between two buxom blondes on Worth Ave. in Palm Beach: "Ooh, look at his shirt." "Yeah, you know what they say about men with big ponies." [Both giggle]

Back off, LA Guy.  They look sweet with the collar popped.
Are you going to wear them under your Ricco's suit? I had to get some button holes opened today. Joe did it on the spot, free of charge. That guy is a real class act. We even talked about you. Apparently, he is quite impressed with your clothing choices.

He didn't comment on mine (I was wearing a military jacket, a black teeshirt with the Apocalypse Now attack helicopter scene on it, APC jeans, a Iron Cross studded belt, and Puma sneakers... and a messenger bag with a raised fist on it, into which I'd unceremoniously stuffed my tux jacket.)
