First, good luck with the change and move. I think I've said it in other threads, but I made a move to the legal department of a relatively large municipality from private practice. While there was no way that government could have been worse than my private sector job (I had a terrible boss), it has exceeded my expectations. I have gotten more experience than I ever would have received in the private sector, and think I am going to be in a much better place than I would have been if I had stayed in private practice. If you're relatively inexperienced and ambitious, I think government is a great option.

Just a quick update to those of you nice enough to wish me good luck or send me a PM. About 20 days of studying left at this point. I have done quite a lot of MBE questions and I am beginning to look at spending more time focused on essays for the next few weeks.

I have been lucky enough to use my flexible schedule to get in some midweek ski days in Vermont over the last month so don't feel too bad for me!

Looking forward to getting these tests over with soon, but also beginning to enter the panic that comes with knowing that they are less than a month away (and I don't want to have to take them again!!!).

After the test I am headed to Vietnam for 2.5 weeks!

This is the agonizing part: about 4 months! CTG taking both NY and MA. For NY, the results will be posted online; if your name is on the list, you passed. For MA, you get a letter; [IIRC] blue you passed and pink you failed.

I still remember the day I got my MA letter. I saw the color of the paper through the envelope and almost hugged the mailman (no ****).

LOL. CT is the same as NY. You look on the website and if your name is there you passed. Funny enough the day it was posted to the site in CT I was driving to work and my old volvo died on me. I was waiting for a tow truck when my mom and girlfriend started frantically calling me. Needless to say I bought a new car after that.

I am trying to figure out what I am going to do while I wait for the results. Most likely looking for full time work and possibly working on the side doing construction or substitute teaching.
