Big Lapels - Can anything be done?

I was just wondering - I have a Paul Stuart singlebreasted two button, but I find the lapels too big - I'm not a tailor but I think the gorge might be too low as well. Can a tailor do anything with this - I thought it might look a lot better as a three button but have never really heard of this being done . . .

How wide are the lapels? When did you purchase this jacket?

Yes, the lapel width can be narrowed. I wouldn't recommend making the jacket into a 3-button, though. 2-buttons are pretty well what's happening right now.

How low is that gorge?? If it's really low, then I'm likely to think your jacket is from the early 90s or something like that.

I purchased it from Paul Stuart in the mid-2000s. Its probably not that low, but I think the depth of the lapels probably makes them look longer than they are - if that makes any sense . . .

Don't change anything.
