Never saw her performing live as she's before my time, but saw some of her videos, amazing voice and prominent stage presence.

Her work in Three Queens cycle by Donizetti is about as good as opera gets. Not to mention she was a hell of good person.

She will be missed.

My mother was a great fan of opera and very impressed by Beverly Sills. Unfortunately I lost my mother to cancer earlier this year after a long illness during which I was her sole caregiver. We were very close and I'm still very much coming to terms with the loss. It is a comforting thought to believe that maybe my mom and other opera fans are getting a "command performance" by Ms. Sills now in heaven...
