Better to Buy a Jacket that Fits Perfect OTR or Nicer Jacket and get Tailored?

Ok, so here is the situation, I've been looking on the BST here and on ebay for about 2 months and haven't been able to find a great deal on a Navy Blazer which I need so now I'm going to have to buy one new. The Belk's here in NC is having a super HSM sale this wednesday, and I can get either the Capital Collection (http://goo.gl/WqvUP) or the Gold Trumpeter (http://goo.gl/XfiKn) at a pretty significant discount (The Gold Trumpeter is $75 more). Here is the problem, I know the Gold Trumpeter is "nicer" but its trimmer fit doesn't suit me all that well (I'm a 48L in pretty much every coat I've ever tried on and would need to tailor a 50 in the Trumpter) but the Capital Collection 48L fits perfect off the rack. Is it better to buy a jacket that fits perfectly even if the material isn't quite as nice or buy the best jacket available even if you have to get a decent amount of tailoring done to get it to fit right. Any help/tips/comments appreciated.

If you can live with the quality and finish of the better fitting one, go with it. Alterations are tricky.

I bet money it doesn't fit perfectly.

The gentlemen here will be sure to rip you a new one if you post pictures.

I say get the better one, since both will most likely need alterations.

IMO, assuming the fit is actually perfect then I'd opt for that - I buy several brands that aren't "SF-approved'

because they fit me OTR and fit/look is more important to me than construction methods and even materials.

Thanks for the help guys, I'm sure the OTR fit isn't 100% perfect, but its pretty close, no real alterations needed but I will probably switch out the buttons

Go with the best fit on the blazer. With the money you save, take it to a tailor anyway, to make sure its right on; and buy great buttons.
