I just got a credit card with reward program (amex blue cash), i can't believe i have been using a damn bank of america standard Visa card for years with zero reward/anything...could have raked in hundreds of cash per year, that's a pair of Alden's there. But i guess better late than never, right? I was just lazy and that laziness cost me serious $$$.

So that got me started thinking about this: what are some other simple, easy-to-execute advices (consumer-related or not) that SF-ers have for the less experienced? What are some other "free" money/benefit in life that we've been missing out on? what are some other must-do's? Would like to avoid making mistakes for longer...

Mise en place, not just in the kitchen but at work and at home. Everything practically falls into place by itself after that.
