Hi all, I am offering for sale an exceedingly rare and beautiful pair of Bettanin & Venturi fatto a Mano exclusively for Barneys chukka boots with a split chisel toe Norwegian construction. Â The uppers are constructed of a tan suede with a beautiful nap, and boots the heel and sole are thick enought to go well with jeans, cords, moleskins, and other elegant but casual (though not as casual as the Puma MY-7's I'm now wearing) weekend wear. Â The soles, carry the unmistakeable insignia of the Bettanin and Venturi company, and are finished a rich red brown. Â There is slight shop wear on the soles (they were at FB for a while, and those floors are not the most well maintained,) but the uppers are immaculate. Â As I said before, the suede used for the uppers are amazing. Bettanin & Venturi is not as well known as sme other brands, on the forum, but I am hoping that A Harris or another shoe guru will step it here. Â It is a respected company, and deservedly so. Â The retail on these is about $700 (this is a conservative estimate, they could easily be above $800). Â I am offering them here for $238, shipped within the United States. Â Shipping outside the US will incur additional shipping charges. Â PM me if you are interested. Â Paypal is greatly preferred at [email protected] Pictures below. Â The color of the suede is actually a little more golden than shown, but this is what the shoes look like under fluorescent lights on a rainy boston day.

Bettanin's are rather rare (only seen them at Barney's) and are pretty nice. Most of the models are handmade. The finish/detailing is not quite up to the level of Santoni handmade, but they aren't as expensive as Santoni handmade either. At $238, sounds like a raging deal.

Hmmm, didn't try them on when I was in Barney's, the service was pretty poor. I'd expect they would fit either true-to-size or 1/2 size small, like most Italian shoes.

Pics have been added.  I have decided to donate 10% of the proceeds from the sale to "the cause".  For all those who don't what I am talking about and are intrigued, please feel free to PM me.

If you are interested in getting the shoes quickly, please try to ask questions and/or purchase before tomorrow evening.  I will be in NYC over the long weekend and will probably not read any PMs.

Thanks JN3. The nailwork is really quite spectacular. For anyone who would like, I will additional nails free of charge. I can put them in a little plastic bag if you are a DIYer, or I will hammer them into the shoe if you wish (but only after you purchase them.) No guarantees that they will not then become the Iron Maiden of footwear

The Bettanin & Venturis I have -- two pair of ankle boots and one pair loafers all from Barneys -- either run large or have English sizing.

In other words, I'm a 8.5 (42 euro) and I take a 7.5 or a 7 in B&V. These probably fit somewhere between 9.5 and 10.5 in US feet. Given that they're suede, I would expect some stretching.

I've also seen them in Montreal at a nice little place called Gianni(? - I might have the name wrong).
