1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I'm partial to this logo, which I think is under appreciated:

Its eye-pleasing, but a little too 'web 2.0' imho, with the typeface and the gradient/shadows in the graphic.

    -wannabe designer.

I like it, but I think it looks too youthful for something they want to maintain a broad appeal. I think older men might think it's a bit too feminine. I don't like the shape of the new plastic bottles, and I think the word "Pepsi" should be much larger on the Pepsi MAX bottle and can since the particular logo looks nearly unrecognizable.

I really like the new Sierra Mist can.

Personally, I absolutely hate the new logo. In fact, Pepsi's constant logo-changing really makes me dislike the brand as a whole (not to mention that coke is definitely better--Diet Coke for the win!)

When I first saw a billboard for the new logo where the text was "OH LA LA" and nothing else (O in OH replaced with the pepsi logo), I was like, "Oh, what a strange billboard for Korean Airlines!"

Also, have you seen this? Hilarious: http://gawker.com/5150582/breathtaki...ntire-universe

This reminded me of my liking the Korean Air logo itself-

I personally dislike the Korean Air logo quite a bit. The font, aside from being pretty ugly, just screams "generic Asian-style font." If they wanted a kind of oriental flair to it, they could have still done a much more spatially balanced font instead of something so clunky and unelegant.

lolol except someone was actually paid hundreds of millions of dollars to come up with the pepsi logo history. le sigh. i need to work in advertising.

about other logos, i really like the OLD UPS logo.

see? Old one is pretty awesome in its simplicity, no?

but the new delta logo is definitely a vast improvement.

this is the PRIME example of the genius of Paul Rand. it's the one I always use now as an example of what NOT to do.

a quick google of rand logos led to this.

if you dig design, and judging from your posting in this thread i would guess you do, do yourself a favor and check out his site. I think I posted it earlier in this thread but it's paul-rand.com you'll be amazed if you're unfamiliar with his work.

he's my design hero. him and saul bass.

Supposedly, when the logo was first presented to company executives, Fred Smith, the founder, was the only one to see the arrow.

Just noticed the arrow now [IMG]
