Normally I just wait for BB stuff to go on sale but thought I'd try and broaden my horizons. I'm a young guy in a business casual law firm so not looking for anything too crazy - just basic solids and maybe some light patterns. Criteria:

- flat front
- wool
- slimmer (I'm like 6'0, 150 lbs) but not skin-tight!
- moderate to lower rise
- $100 ish

Is there anything else out there worth looking at or must I open up the wallet a bit more? I'm willing to wait for a sale since I already have 10-12 pairs in the rotation and don't need them right away.

What is your current trouser wardrobe like? Are they all some sort of wool or are their some cotton trousers in the mix?

I ask because if you already have 10-12 that you regularly wear and like, it may make sense to start investing in some seasonal fabrics. Some of these might cost more than your basic BB trousers, especially if you get some flannel trousers for the winter.

They are a mix of wool, flannel and some lighter construction wool for summer (tropical wool or something). Almost all are BB that I got on sale, with a couple cheapies also in the mix. A few pairs are beginning to wear out so I was wondering if there were some better choices out there for replacements. These are used primarily for work so I'd probably avoid cotton.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
