Put a mound of baby powder over the stain. Leave it for an hour or two, brush off. The powder absorbs the oil. DO NOT put water on it, do not rub it, blot it.

Thanks. So if I already rubbed and blotted with a damp napkin (I couldn't just walk around the office with a wet mayo glob on my pants) is it worth it to still try the powder?

Try it. The sooner you apply the powder the better chance of getting a good result.

Use a non bio washing liquid, wash on the delicates setting with no heat but not a full wash. Do not spin dry

I did the same thing- blotted with some water and tide to-go pen immediately after noticing a stain. Probably a mistake but I didn't know realize oil stains are different than most. I applied baby powder to the spot yesterday and again this morning and I'm waiting to see the results tonight. Minor problem: the stain area is now wrinkled and it needs to be ironed before wearing again- should I wait a while to make sure all the powder has been removed before ironing? When I checked the stain last night, it seemed like getting 100% of the powder off the trousers would be difficult.
