I'm knew to this forum, but I was wondering if anyone has had much success restoring desert boots? I've had mine for quite a while and they have darkened considerably/ just don't look nearly as good as they once did. All help is appreciated.

Also, the ones I currently have are Clarks. I started out with these to see how I liked the style and I wear them all the time. Any good recommendations to upgrade to? Thanks.

While a repair may not be viable you can certainly improve the appearance of an old pair with a little effort.

I had a brown pair (above) that had been worn in the garden and for dirty jobs about the house and even had a couple of white paint splashes on them. I covered them with suede cleaning foam, let them dry, brushed them with a soft suede (rubber) brush and then added some new laces. They came up a treat and were then worn for at least six years before being replaced with a new pair. I have again taken them off for gardening duty!
