Well that's certainly handy. Thanks. For some reason I missed that when I was scanning Starbucks' website. Now, if only other companies would publish that as well.

    Why don't you just ask?
It's a pretty routine question. Just ask what their benefits packages are. The manager will instinctively include health care with vacation and other stuff.
    ^Exactly
I absolutely asked. Health care is SUCH a hot-button issue right now that any reasonable person should want to know if they have a PPO/HMO/HSA programs available. You could couch it by asking what type of healthcare plans are offered by the firm. I think the larger problem that you face is finding out if the company's SPECIFIC plan includes your doctor -- by specific I mean just because someone has an Aetna PPO and your doc takes Aetna PPOs (I presume you have a list of the plans that guy accepts), that the plan your company negotiated with the HMO will still include that doc. Unless you're just going OON and don't care. Sorry you need/want surgery, for whatever reason, it's always an ordeal at some level. I have to ask, though, do you want a job so you can get elective surgery and will then quit? A little confused on this. ~ H

The Dr. is out of every network coverage. You have to get the procedure approved, thus the reason for the PPO.

What I'm essentially looking for is a part-time job with benefits that I can hold onto for the next 2 years while I go through the prep for the surgery (1 year in and of itself). After I get the surgery, assuming I'm still alive and in relatively sanity, I plan on leaving the country anyway so its sort of a moot point to me. But, no, to allay your thought process, I don't plan on working for 3 months and quitting cold turkey. Not my style.

I wonder if TSA offers benefits to part-time employees.

I'm pretty sure that penile enlargement isn't covered by most PPOs.

Penis reduction. They've got to go an inch at a time, so its going to take a while.

    Naked x-ray pics?

Ok. Since you don't need real specifics, I'd just ask. BTW, since I don't know your situation, I don't know that I necessarily think that getting a job merely as a route to medical treatment is inappropriate, it just seemed like an odd question. I better understand now. ~ H

I understand completely Hunts. My mind would have went there immediately had somebody else asked the question as well. Obviously its an odd question, which is exactly why I'm hesitant to just bring it up to whoever is interviewing me.

Oh, to be clear, I only thought it was odd with the context you provided -- I still think this is perfectly fine to ask in a day and age when the number of zeros in your paycheck is no longer THE defining factor in choosing an employer.

Best of luck Rambo. I hope that experimental anal fissure surgery works out for you.
