I was wondering if anyone had any favorite vintage clothing stores in New York City, Washington, Philadelphia or Baltimore. I don't mean thrift stores but vintage clothing dealers. I didn't see anything along these lines in the archives and thought this would be helpful to fellow collectors. Thanks!

Thanks, Spoo! Only one response, guys? Don't hold out on your style brothers! I am going to scout out Dreamland in Baltimore today and I will give you a report.

stock vintage on 13th st. pretty much all menswear. Most of the merch is workwear, though they do carry quite a few hats. It is said to be one of the premier stores of that type in the world.

I went to Dreamland today. The store that is. It's on 36th Street, aka The Avenue, in Hampden, right outside Baltimore. It had some stuff. Not a huge selection. More women's stuff. An antiques store nearby actually had a fairly large men's section in the basement.

Down the street was Sixteen Tons, which had lots of style but very little vintage. They had some cool new stuff, such as Naked and Famous jeans and Red Wing Gentleman Travelers.

We found a few nicely stocked mod furniture stores, very reasonably priced. Had appetizers at a wine bar, dinner at a deserted Korean restaurant (spooky but good) and vegan chocolate cookies and Ethiopian coffee at another place. All on the Avenue and all fun. So, I would not say you would be likely to score big there, but you might find a choice item and a fine meal. In fact, the only piece of clothing I got was a nice, hand-finished JACHS Shirt from a boutique.
