1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Are they Corthay?

I've never been a fan of the whole "Artisanal Leather Staining deal" - I'd rather patina my shoes myself over a few decades.

I remember seeing a thread where someone removed the color from his AE's then redyed them. Seemed like a little bit of excessive work, but the results were pretty decent. I believe he did a navy-ish color and I think its a fun thing that I may try in the future on an older pair of shoes.

    EDIT: http://www.styleforum.net/t/304241/allen-edmonds-mora-project-vote-navy-blue-or-oxblood

MOL details a good process to use if you want to try this one day

Yeah, I think navy is great. Not exactly dressy, but I really like dark blue boat shoes. They go with anything.

J.M. Weston produces their classic 180 loafer in navy. It's nice, rather drab and understated, and it works with a lot of casual outfits.

I have no business being in this thread. I can't possibly fathom the appeal of a shoe that's a dress shoe in every respect but color.

So as not to be overly curmudgeonly, I'll throw out the Church's blue suede wingtips. I've actually seen them worn in the wild and look solid with khakis.

Of the colors mentioned, I'd only wear navy in a dress shoe. I considered a pair of green dress shoes, but realized I'd not wear them enough to justify the purchase.

As FNB once said, the only time you can ever wear a green shoe is on a day your firm exercises an over allotment option on an IPO.
