Saw High Fidelity again yesterday and realized where your sig comes from. Cool.

Not russian but here is an experiment of my own:

Sleeves are tight. Body is a little baggier than I'd like, so I'll probably stitch it up a bit. I'd get a medium if I was your size. I'm a 36 or 37 and got a small.

Yupper, and they reissued a few of them (including the 'trimm trab' logoed ones) which are 60% off (about $40) at the Adidas outlet by me. If you want one let me know.

Yea, in context, that quote speaks so much for men. Hands down my favorite film, as well.

Nick Hornby is the tits. If your only exposure to him is the Hollywood take on "High Fidelity" (which I loved, despite the change of venue from London to Chicago), I highly suggest reading the original and all his other books. As an Arsenal supporter and soccer fanatic, I especially recommend "Fever Pitch." Great book and film. It's also just been remade for we Americans as the story of an obsessed Red Sox fan; while it looks good, I do doubt Jimmy Fallon's ability to fill Colin Firth's shoes...

(MikeF @ Mar. 16 2005,03:27) ken: what's the sizing like? Â (I'll order one online and ship it to the next hotel I'm visiting in the US.) Â I'm a 38, or a small 40.

So how do these Adidas reissued smalls fit? I'm also a 36, sometimes even a 34, and I like my clothes fitted. Do you know anyplace online that has pictures? thanks Dan

I nominate:[IMG] Ignore the jackass wearing it. That Target jacket is indeed sweet.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but the CCCP track jacket disappeared from target.com before I ever got a chance to order one. If someone could get me a small- or medium-sized CCCP jacket, I would pay them for it, and love them forever. Please PM me.

I too am an Arsenal fan. Let's hope we finish second and win the FA Cup. Do you guys think Wenger will finally bring in a proper keeper?

    Mister Bowles,

Great to see there's another Hornsby fan here. I loved the book, but just didn't like the movie with John Cusak. For whatever reason, I enjoyed the movie adaptiom About a Boy much more even though I thought the book High Fidelity was his best book so far.

I don't expect too much from the new movie Fever Pitch. The whole point of the book was what happens when you're  fanatical about this team that never wins, and then it suddenly wins. As the script was written before the Red Sox surprising upset over the Yankees, I don't see how it can capture the original tone of the book. I bet you when they incorporate that into the film, the transition will be rather abrupt and tagged on.

The best track suits have to be Adidas. I still have some unopened vintage ones from the early 80s, including pants. I never wear both cause that would be overkill.

Okay, esquire, you've forced my hand. If track jackets do not belong in Streetwear, then I am wearing an ascot.

For the record, I liked both adaptations. High Fidelity, both movie and book, resonated more with me, and the movie soundtrack was better, but the "About a Boy" book was a much better read, imo.

I have read HIgh Fidelity as well, and it is one of my favorite books. The movie is probably the best adaptation to the screen that remained true to the ideals of the book that I've ever seen, despite some changes in it (longer relationship with Marie LaSalle in the book, no "Top 5 Records," etc.).

I have not read Fever Pitch or About A Boy, but I heard Fever Pitch isn't such a hot movie. Bummer, because I was excited to see another Hornby novel brought to the screen. About a Boy and High Fidelity are both such excellent movies.
