Out of the hotel teas I've been to, which aren't that many, I prefer Mandarin Oriental.

I really like the Momofuku dessert place, Milk Bar. The candy bar pie -

My favorite chocolates in the city are at Kee's. It's takeout though.

Haven't noticed a taste difference, but melted Smarties sound pretty good to me.
