They are all the same. Almost every brand is manufactured by Luxottica or Safilo. It's all a matter of taste unless you go truly high end.

Shouldn't it be based on lens quality? I thought Revo, Oakley and Maui Jim were supposed to all be the same quality. Okay, Oakley is probably below the other two.

My Tom Ford aviators are the "Charles," I think. Though I am no connoisseur, the build quality strikes me as being a bit higher than my Ray Bans and other Luxottica sunglasses.

I recall reading on here that Tom Ford eyewear is made in China.

Well, a good pair of raybans are the best sunglasses for me. The design and comfort of their glasses are good.

I own a pair of Bvlgari sunglasses and have been very pleased with the build quality and the lenses as well.

This is a question for anyone with plastic frame sunglasses:

Is it true that a lot of plastic sunglasses seem to have one leg bent more than the other?
Because on leg is going over the other when they are folded?

Anyone with this knowledge, please do share. [IMG]

Either on the table, if there are no drawers, or the jacket's pen pocket, if it's one of my slimmer folding sunglasses. I have a pair of Persols that are a bit bulky due to their arch, and I hang that on the outside jacket pocket, next to my pocket square.

Just picked up a pair of Maui Jim Sandy Beach sunglasses.

    http://www.mauijim.com/webapp/wcs/st...0167&langId=-1

It is my first pair of Maui Jim's, but so far so good.

They are very light, and it seems relatively "inexpensive" as far as Maui Jim's are concerned. They have the rubber nose piece so they don't slip and slide around at all.

I will report back if I discover any problems with them.

Although they supposedly have great optics, MJs always look like old men's glasses to me.

I just bought these Persol 2849S. I think they're too large. There are two size choices,("59-17-48-140mm" and "56-17-46-135mm"). This is the larger size, so I guess I will mail them back for an exchange, because i like the shape.

I dont know why Persol keeps on getting mentioned here. They are no longer owned by Ratti...and have not been for a while. They are owned by Luxottica and therefore they are complete garbage in terms of quality and construction.

But its nice to know how people who dont know much about sunglasses keep on making recommendations as to who makes the "best."

I just purchased a pair of OP Aeros and a pair of Mosley Tribes Aviatrix (Round and Square Aviator) Very happy with both, I was always a maui jim wearer but there lenses are just a bit too dark for me, I like the VFX lenses in these new ones.
