1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Saw this last year. It was pretty unique in person.

Don't have a photo of the stair ... but what appeals to me here is the hall to which the stair leads.

I also like the one from Gattaca. Simple yet elegant.

I had a client ask for this stair. Code wouldn't allow for an exact duplicate -- our good fortune. Ultimately I think we gave him a different stair in the same spirit.

I really like that staircase also. Incidentally, I believe it was chosen because it resembles a DNA helix.

Best for running up: [IMG] Best for falling down (pic does not do justice to how steep this actually is IRL): [IMG] Seriously though, some very cool stuff in this thread.

[IMG] [IMG] @StephenHero: Forget if I mentioned it somewhere else, but Roman wells have those double helix stairs, which I love. They allowed one pack mule to descend at the same time that another was ascendinging.
