Does anybody have good recommendations to spare?

FWIW I live in DC and have had recent good experience with Vidal Sasson for hair. Now wondering about the rest of the package...

I spend way too much time and money at the Grooming Lounge, located at 1745 L Street, NW, near the Farragut North metro station. Â I get a haircut every 4 weeks and a facial and eyebrow wax every 6-8 weeks. Â They offer a variety of other services, including massages, manicures, pedicures, and shaves. Â Appointments are generally required.

Thanks very much. Very kind of you to advise. I saw their site just the other day and wondered what they might be like. I'll make an appointment and see how I get on.

While not pertaining to the D.C. area I have noticed that a lot of designers have opened spas geared at men.

For example Gianfranco Ferre, Dolce & Gabbana, and Armani all have male spas mostly behind or adjacent to their mega stores.

Designer hotels have also sprung up most noticeable Versace in Australia but not limited to Jil Sander, Ferragamo, and etc.

So, a quick report on The Grooming Lounge. Really very good. This was my first spa experience, so I am not familiar with qualities elsewhere. Anyway, I've not seen anything else in the DC area that seems as well suited to men and designed with their needs in mind. I had a manicure and pedicure, and also a "Power Facial". Certainly the staff know what they are doing and I do look and feel a whole lot better. So thumbs up. I will revisit again in a month or so. Oh, and I'd love to know of other spas that include services and specialiists for men. It was a great treat/reward for a very hard week at work and another ten pounds lost through working out.
