Best shirts without a tie

My company is business casual, so I don't have to wear a tie to my job, but I still like to look good. This is kind of my goal:

I'd like to recreate Gov. Schwarzenegger's look of casual elegance that he projects when going tieless, but I've found that the collars on some of my dress shirts seem to be (for lack of a better term) floppy. A few work, but others don't. If I'm going to go tieless most of the time, what type of shirt collars should I purchase and perhaps what brands would you recommend? Thanks in advance, Bradford

I like the two-button button-down collars that the neapolitan makers seem to do so well--they stay up nicely without being overly stiff.

Don't know about button-down collars tieless with suits (good with sport jackets, especially if worn with V-neck or cardigan vest or sweater). It's a casual shirt. Personally, I'd prefer a spread collar shirt tieless with a suit. For some examples of the latter, look at the most recent issue of Vanity Fair with photos of "Best Dressed".

Paul Stuart, Loro Piana and Zegna (there may be others too) make a shirt with a collar that Paul Stuart calls a "cooper" collar. Â The collar and the front placket are all one piece of fabric, which results in a great "roll" of the fabric when the top button is unbuttoned. Â Highly recommended. I have seen those 1-piece collars by e-zegna and they seem pretty nice. The camp shirt idea wouldn't work with a sportcoat, I think.

What you're looking for is a high stance, point collar. Make sure the collar size cooresponds to your actual neck measurement, or else it'll look awful.
