Best Shirting for a Custom Button Down?

Any specific books that I should look up when commissioning custom button downs? Or should I assume a good midweight oxford from any reputable mill will do the trick?

Oxford doesn't need to be Alumo to be OK. My favorite Oxfords are all (I think) Indian goods made by CEGO in NY. Perfectly fine cloth. Price was outstanding.
